This warm, garlicy flat bread is perfect with a curry.

 200 ml water
 10 ml instant yeast
 10 ml baking powder
 5 ml castor sugar
 45 ml olive oil
 80 ml plain youghurt
 3 ml salt
 1 egg
 3 cups flour
Basting
 80 g melted butter
 2 cloves of garlic

In a medium bowl, place flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

In a measuring jug, place, water, yeast, yoghurt,egg and olive oil. Mix well till combined.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix to a loose dough.

Remove dough from the bowl and knead for about 4 minutes on a clean surface.

Return the dough to the bowl and cover with a dish towel. Leave to prove for 45 minutes. Start 45min timer

Knock the dough down and knead for another minute or two, then divide into 8 pieces.

Roll each piece out with a rolling pin into an elongated circle.

Heat a large frying pan with 25 ml cooking oil.

Fry each piece for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbles form in the dough and it is golden brown. Flip over and fry for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Remove from the frying pan and brush the bubbly side of the Naan with the melted butter (add minced garlic if you wish)

Serve warm with curry, soup or stew.
